C’est le prix à payer fixé par un tribunal marocain à un jeune adulte qui avait osé rompre publiquement le jeûne à Rabat en plein mois du Ramadan. Cet acte y est, en effet, sanctionné par la loi (article 222 du code pénal marocain). Les peines peuvent aller jusqu’à six mois de prison et les amendes jusqu’à 120 dirhams (100 euros). Chacun est libre de manger chez soi mais pas sur la place publique, au nom de la tradition et de la morale.
L’acte n’était pas fortuit puisque le vice-président de l’Association marocaine des droits de l’Homme, Abdelhamid Amine, a indiqué qu’« au cours de son interrogatoire, il a affirmé qu’il avait accompli cet acte par conviction et que cela faisait partie de sa liberté individuelle ». Un groupe a même émergé pour donner de la voix à ces revendications, le Masayminch (nous ne jeûnons pas), dans le cadre du Mouvement Alternatif pour les Libertés Individuelles (MALI). Leur but n’est pas exceptionnel ni irrationnel : pouvoir manger en public pour les non-croyants sans risquer de poursuites. Mc Donald’s, par exemple, ne sert que des plats à emporter et refusent de servir sur place les Marocains adultes.
Il lui reste désormais la possibilité de faire appel même si la partie s’annonce difficile. D’ailleurs, sur internet la guerre fait rage entre les groupes pro et anti- Masayminch, preuve d’une tension réelle. Après l’agression il y a quelques jours d’un conseiller régional des Pays-de-la-Loire en Tunisie, le Maghreb ne semble pas être la destination touristique idéale quand on se revendique athée… Je ne dirais qu’une chose: vive les religions. C’est malheureusement vrai. L’islam a environ 5 siècles de retard sur le catholicisme et les islamistes en sont encore aux croisades! Damned encore 500 ans à attendre avant qu’ils se civilisent! Ces religions, quelle connerie décidément!
Les religions incitent à être plus responsable, réfléchis, aimant, tolérant, techniquement, ce n’est pas une mauvaise chose, après l’humain est fait de divergence et il n’y a pas besoin d’être dans la foi pour avoir des idées un peu trop extrémiste …

We drove into town and decided that a daytime visit to Charlie’s was going to be the answer. I parked in the bar lot and Elise dashed in to change into something more appropriate, jeans and a t-shirt along with her biker jacket but keeping her Converses on.
Walking down to the restaurant was different from the middle of the night visits as the streets were bustling and all of the shops and outlets were open.
Reaching Charlie’s we entered the front door and sat in a booth near the window. A beautiful young American Chinese girl came,smiled and said hello to Elise and gave us menus and asked if we wanted drinks in the meantime.
« No thanks Lin just a pot of Jasmine tea for us please. » Lin went back to the kitchen area. “No booze for me today as I will have to work in the bar so it is just tea for me.”
Not in a drinking mood either, I agreed with her. »
